Rotary's Camp
Florida is a project of the Florida Rotary Districts. Rotary's Camp
Florida provides a camping experience for special needs children in a
residential or day camp setting. The special needs of the children range from
emotional or mental to physical or medical disadvantages.
The camp located in Brandon, Florida, is an eighteen acre facility nestled among
giant oak trees and bordering two lakes. Within fifteen minutes drive or airlift
to five major area hospitals, Rotary's Camp Florida provides a haven for kids
and a secure feeling for their parents and doctors. All the fun things kids love
to do await them at Rotary's Camp Florida: fishing, boating, archery, swimming
and all types of sports. Also, the friendships and memories formed among the
kids will help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives.
Some of the children who have found these friendships have Muscular Dystrophy,
Diabetes, Cancer, Downs Syndrome, HIV or have been abused.
