Welcome to the University
of South Florida's official Rotaract website! Here you will be
able to look at our calendar of upcoming events, see photos of
various projects we have participated in, and get important
contact information.
ABOUT ROTARACT USF
This particular club was
recently founded in March 2006 by Erin Hucke, a
USF freshman. The New Tampa Rotary Club sponsored us and we plan
on working closely with them. USF Professor Tom Wade is our
faculty advisor and has been a huge help in getting this club
started! The original member count was about 30 but we hope to
get much larger in the coming year. This club is only open to
USF students but anyone in the Tampa Bay area could start a
community-based club at any time. So far, we participated in a
clean up at the Hillsborough River and helped sort and package
food for the Salvation Army.
Initial dues for Rotaract
USF are $10.00 for the first semester and $5.00 for every
semester after that. Each member is expected to keep good grades
and participate in at lease 60% of projects throughout the year.
We typically meet every other Thursday at 7:30 pm to discuss
upcoming projects and current events.
Because Rotaract is part
of Rotary International, we will do projects focused on other
countries around the world. We already have plans in place to
work with Watoto, an organization that builds villages in Africa
to house orphaned children.
