Rotarians
The
Antique, Classic and Historic Automobile
world Fellowship of Rotarians (ACHAFR) is an
international association of Rotarians
dedicated to promoting the preservation and
utilisation of antique, classic and historic
automobiles as an opportunity for fellowship
and service.
ACHAFR combines an
adherence to the principles of Rotary with a
love of cars and the history of automotive
technology and use this shared interest as
an opportunity to advance and foster the
object of Rotary.
It achieves this
through:-
- The
organisation of at least one
International rally a year :
- For 2009
the
Rotary
Convention Tour
took place in the UK during the week
before the RI Convention with 47
cars from 4 countries taking part..
- For 2010
planning has just started for two
events. The first is the
Rotary Tour
Autoretro
being organised by District 1730 in
France. Further details ofthe second
will follow in the near future.
- For 2011
Tony Raylor a member of the RC of
York Vikings and editor of the
Morgans Year Book has already
prepared details of his
Rainbow Nation
Tour
- a 13 day Tour of South Africa.
- The support
and encouragement of National Fellowship
Organisations (Chapters) to promote and
assist local Rotary Clubs with the
organisation and promotion of Vintage
and Classic Car Rallies; Static Shows
and Tours
- The
publication of an Annual Yearbook
listing all members of the Worldwide
Fellowship together with a six monthly
newsletter'.
